Quck And Easy Weight Loss Tips

Are you looking for a few quick weight loss tips or suggestions to help you shed a few pounds? Below are a few quick suggestions that you’ve probably heard before and I’m sure you will hear again. The reason for that is they work, so long as you truly and faithfully apply them to your daily routine.

1. Control your Portions

A person should always monitor the size of portions they eat. This is where a lot of people tend to struggle the most. People are in the habit of filling themselves up so they will not have to eat for a longer period of time. This is really apparent in restaurant portions, if you do eat out a lot try cutting your portions in half and saving it for the next meal. Often times we only need a third of the actual amount served at most restaurants.

2. Plan Your Meals! Really this does help.

Determining what you’re going to eat every day and at what times helps prevent making bad choices when you’re already hungry. Most of wait till we are hungry before we eat and our eyes often become larger then our stomachs, but you plan your meals out for the day or for the week and then stick too it you won’t have to worry about tempting yourself with things you shouldn’t eat when it comes time for you meals.

3. Increase Your Level Of Activity

A Lot of people avoid the exercise side of weight loss. Mainly because they feel they don’t have the time or the energy. You don’t have to go out and spend money on a gym or spend hours a day exercising, you can just make a few adjustments in your day that will take very little time and makes large amounts of difference. Try taking 2 to 3 10 to 15 min walks a day. Or if you like watching TV dome some sit ups and jumping jacks during commercials.

These are just a few simple suggestions to help you lose weight and feel great. For more quick weight loss tips try the links below.

Sugar And Weight Loss

Not only is large amounts of sugar bad for your health, it is a contributing factor in an entire host of issues we won’t even have time to discuss here. Diabetes is only one of many major health problems you can get with a diet rich in sugar, obesity is another. Sugar contains no vitamins or minerals and draws on the micronutrient the in the body in order for your system to metabolize it. When these storehouses are exhausted, the body’s ability to break down cholesterol and fatty acids is impeded. So if you are seriously trying to lose weight should cut down on your sugar intake drastically.

Manufacturers will use a verity of labels for naming sugar. So unless the law changes, it is up to us to read labels and recognize what is being disguised as sugar. Some common terms for sugars are sucrose (table sugar), fructose (fruit sugar ), mannitol, maltose (malt sugar), lactose (milk sugar), glucose, dextrose (corn sugar), sorbitol, galactose, glycogen, monosaccharide, and polysaccharide. Using sugar substitutes as an alternative presents other health risks. If you think Splenda or aspartame are suitable alternatives, think again, they are linked to cancer.

Carbohydrates while are not harmful themselves, need to be proportioned sparingly and with the right kinds carbohydrates when you are attempting to reach your weight loss goals. A diet high in simple carbohydrates such as white pasta or white bread will upset your blood sugar level. However complex carbohydrates such as whole wheat bread, brown rice or nuts can provide long-term health benefits, and help to control your appetite and sustain your energy levels.

Refined junk foods are high in sugar to give them a great taste. And you can’t check labels while eating at a restaurant. It is up to us to make intelligent choices about the food we eat. Try substituting your white bread or pasta with a whole wheat option instead. Be wary of commercial drinks. Even some of your iced teas and juices have some form of sugar listed high on in the ingredients. And it’s important to remember that the higher an ingredient is on the label the more that product contains.

Weight Loss and Healthy Eating

We hear all the time about the growing concern for obesity in America. I myself have struggled with the issue of weight for a large portion of my life. I've weight as much as 310 pounds, considerable amount for a 5'8" frame, and I've managed to loose 115 pounds at one point only to turn around and put back on 70. I feel that many people are afflicted with the desire to be thin and healthy. I know that as I'm getting older the physical things I love are becoming harder and harder to do, especially when coupled with extra weight. So I've decided to start doing something about it. I've also decided to start this blog in case anyone else out there might happen across it and would like to find ways to start a healthy journey as well.
I've come to the realization that it truly is a change of life style its not just a quick fix diet. I can't keep doing what I've been doing and expect to lose weight and get healthy. So I'll be posting blogs articles and links that will hopefully be helpful to people like me who are looking to change their lives and really start living a healthy happy lifestyle.
